How to make your own homemade strawberry jam? Just like that! It’s an easy and quick recipe for healthy jam! Not like the one you find in the grocery stores.

Ingredients

500 gr fresh strawberries

1/4 cup sugar

1 tsp poppy seeds

1/2 lime juice

1 tsp chia seeds

1/2 lemon zest

1 dash vanilla

1 tsp dried thyme

Directions

  1. Remove the green top, rinse and cut the strawberries in small pieces.
  2. Put all the ingredients in a small pot and stir them.
  3. Turn the heat on high/ medium until they get boiled (about 5 min).
  4. Turn the heat to medium/ low and leave it for 20 more minutes.
  5. Stir frequently to avoid sticking to the bottom.
  6. Skim any foam off the top of the jam with a spoon for the perfect color.
  7. Let it cool for 5 minutes.
  8. Put it in a jar.

Notes

  • Storage: Store your homemade strawberry jam in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to a week.
  • Variations:
    • Flavor it with cinnamon or other spices,
    • use more sugar depending on your preferences, use brown sugar instead of white or/ and
    • add some tablespoons of pineapple juice for extra flavor.
    • Plus, you can smash them as much as you prefer for your ideal jam texture.
  • Served:
    • Served with toasted bread with butter or peanut butter,
    • as topping for your breakfast yogurt,
    • as topping for your no-bake cheesecake,
    • and with these easy to made pancakes.
    • And why not as a yummy salad dressing adding and some balsamic vinegar!
