A simple, quick and so tempting recipe with pasta with fried egg, garlic, butter, and feta! Maybe one of my favorite dishes for an easy but appetizing dinner during a busy week, or on a relaxed and cozy Sunday!
So, if you are an egg lover and a pasta fan then this is the best recipe for you! It needs only 6 ingredients, and almost no prep time, and effort!
This is a smashing recipe that I enjoy it the most during cold days with a glass of white wine!
Also, it’s a traditional Greek dish that can easily be turned into a more ordinary one with ingredients that we all have in our fridge and cupboards!

Recipe
Yield: 4 portions
Prep Time: 5 min
Cook Time: 15 min
Total Time: 20 min
Ingredients
500 gr Bucatini (thick spaghetti), or pasta that you prefer
3 large cloves of garlic, minced
1 tbsp olive oil
20 gr unsalted butter
300 gr feta cheese, crumbled
1 tsp freshly ground pepper
1 tsp chili flakes
4 eggs
Instructions
- Add hot water to a large saucepan over high heat until the water boils and cook the Bucatini one minute less than instructed. In the end, we keep a cup of the water that bucatini cooked.
- In a large frying pan add the olive oil, butter, and chili flakes, and place it in medium-high heat.
- When they are heated add the crushed garlic and saute for 2 minutes until it is golden, aromatic, and crispy.
- Strain the bucatini (holding a cup of their water aside) and add them to the pan with the oil, butter, and garlic.
- Add half of crumbled feta and the cup of water, and stir gently for a minute until the sauce is all over.
- Time to fry your eggs and seasoning them with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and chili flakes. One egg per serving.
- Serve immediately, place the portion of bucatini you need in a deep dish, add the rest of the crushed feta, and add the fried egg on top. Also, add more chili flakes if you want!

- Variations:
- Instead of feta, you can add any other cheese like grated parmesan, blue cheese, grated Gruyere, etc.
- Add mushrooms or/and crispy bacon.
- Adjust the amount of garlic and chili flakes depending on your flavors.
- Storage: Serve immediately, and keep the leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
